You must have heard of Halara, a online brand that’s attracting lots of eyeballs lately. Well thanks to social media platforms, within just a few years of establishment a right marketing strategy can give a brand worldwide exposure. 

Founded in 2020 by Joyce Zhang in the middle of the pandemic peak, Halara has quickly climbed the ranks to become a go-to online destination for those seeking comfort without compromising on style.

Its surge in popularity is due to its unique, strategic presence on social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram, engaging a wide audience with its eye-catching TikTok ads.

I was somehow influenced by their app too and decided to get a few dresses for myself. Now coming to this review, my focus will be on sharing an unbiased honest view of my personal experience with Halara.

What I Ordered From Halara?

Diving into my Halara haul, I wanted to get a variety of items, from casual wear to workout wears. But for the very first time I decided to get only two to get a feel for their product range. Here’s a breakdown of what caught my eye and eventually made it into my shopping cart.

Casual and Workwear: 

I ordered Pocket Wide Leg Work Pants for both, a more professional setting and a smart casual look, priced at $29.95.

Workout Gear:

I also got the Plush Crossover Hem Cropped Sports Top, which looked stylish and comfortable for workouts, though after receiving the product I realized that it was too tight due to its nylon-elastane blend making it quite hard to breathe.

Color- Lavender

Size- XS-XL

Price – $19.95

After receiving my order, which included the mentioned items, I was eager to see if the products lived up to their online presentation. So, without even wasting a second after receiving the parcel, I put the dresses on. 

First Impressions of the Online Shopping Experience on Halara

So now I am going to give a detailed view of my experience with Halara. Read further to know what I liked or what I didn’t about the dresses and the platform. 

Pocket Wide Leg Work Pants Review 

Color- 15 different colors available for the same dress. I decided to get the Rose tan one. 

Size –  When it comes to size, Halara doesn’t have lots of options available. They even have a ‘ fat- tax’ which often causes controversies . XS to XL sizes are available on Halara.

Price- $29.95

Quality and Fit – No information is given about the quality of dress on the website which is a drawback. I still ordered it because of its 4.2 /5 rating based on 3k+ buyers’ reviews. However, after getting the product I was quite satisfied with the product quality. The material is comfortable and the fit is good. The high waisted jeans look great and I think it’s a good purchase. 

Plush Crossover Hem Cropped Sports Tops Review 

Color- 18 different colors are available including white, asparagus, fuschia purple and sun baked. I ordered the purple one. 

Size – XS to XL sizes are available for this sports top. 

Price-  $19.95

Quality and Fit –  As usual no description or the fabric of the top is mentioned on the website. I got the size M based on the size chart but it’s hella tight. It’s next to impossible to be comfortable in this top for a while let alone while playing sports or hitting the gym.The dress has a rating of 4.4 / 5 so I don’t know if size is the issue for all. The quality is decent but I have to return the product just because of its small size. 

Pros

• Halara’s website is user-friendly. The categorization of activewear and leisure clothing is organized, making it easy to find specific items like leggings, dresses, and workout gear.
• Wide range of color options was available, with products displayed by women of color.  Even though most of the models are skinny but that’s how it works on most of the platforms I guess. 
• The free shipping on orders over $49 and a 30-day return policy is appealing.
• Halara has a strong presence on scamadviser and Trustpilot . An overall rating of 4.2 out of 5 from approximately 120 k+ reviews on Trustpilot favors the legitimacy of the brand. 

Halara has also claimed their profile and invested in extra features on review platforms, which is very important to gain customers’ trust.

Cons

• Halara didn’t give a description of any dresses on their official website. That is a major drawback for me. 
• The size options are very limited. 
• Sometimes the quality of dresses and size charts are inaccurate.  
• Halara charges ‘ fat tax’ which is a a very insensitive and controversial move. 

Halara Shipping, Returns, and Customer Engagement

As someone who’s tried shopping online, I get how important it is to feel taken care of, especially when it comes to returns. Halara is a new company from China so like most of the new Chinese companies they don’t provide return labels right now.

It’s kind of a turn off as a buyer, especially since they don’t seem to respond much to reviews. But their shipping is quick which is a good thing.  Overall, they have to work a lot on engaging with customers better and offering more support after they make a purchase.

Halara got popular within a short time because of its effective social media strategy. The quality of their dresses are pretty good considering the price. But like most of the platforms they also have size and quality discrepancy.
